A North Augusta man has been charged in the death of an Evans teenager who was killed after his go-cart was struck by a vehicle on Thursday. Kenneth Gill was charged with first degree vehicular homicide, drive to exercise due care and reckless driving. He was on his phone and had problems staying in his own lane. Tyler Smith, the teenager was rushed to Georgia Regents Medical Center. He was pronounced dead hours later. The incident happened on Hardy McManus Road when Gill's truck veered off the street and struck a go-cart that was on the shoulder of the road, said Columbia County Sheriff's Office Capt. There are many known animals that migrate throughout seasons. Like birds, they always fly down south for the winter time because of the drastic climate change up north. Also some bears, they stock up on food and rest for the winter, then come spring they're at it again. But their are some animals that you wouldn't think migrated. For example, monarch butterflies. Over 20,000 Monarch butterflies travel to the warm state of California during the winter season. Also in July and August wild zebras migrate though the Sengria River for the "Great Migration." These animals are animals that i never thought of as the "migrating" type.

A fifteen year old boy, Nicholas Lowinger, started a charity group that gives new shoes to homeless children, who can't afford them. The group is called "The Gotta Have Sole Foundation," and it has given shoes to over 10,000 homeless children in 21 states. In 2010, when he first started the foundation, it was just his community giving, but it gradually got bigger. He wants to give kids new shoes because, "no two people's feet are identical, and if you are wearing someone else's worn shoes, your feet aren't going to be very comfortable." Nicholas believe news shoes can make a child feel good about themselves, and they're more confident, and they're feet are probably way more comfortable. He didn't want to just settle for shoes being donated every now and then, he wanted it to be something he could do for the rest of his life.

This week, iPhones all over the world got updated to the new IOS 7. This update makes the phone look completely new, and has added many different attractions to the iPhone. It has a built in flashlight, you can take pictures many different ways, and the color scheme is different also. There are mixed feelings about the update. Some people love it, some people hate it, I've heard many different opinions. But personally, I love change, so I love the update. Needless to say, the IOS 7 is completely different from any other update.

My first week of school was hectic. I thought the first week would breeze by, and not be stressful, but it was such a long week and stressful at that..  I had so many homework assignments, and reports due. Way too many for the first week, but I somehow got it all finished. I like most of my teachers, they're all really helpful, and they seem to care and I like how they all teach. I'm content so far with everything, even though I have tons of work to do, and papers to finish. My peers aren't as annoying as I thought they'd be, everyone seems to be okay... so far. I feel like this year is going to be a little hard, but super rewarding in the long run. I guess you could say I'm looking forward to it.
